Under 18s Albion Cup Winners 2014‏

Johnstown’s 18’s today successfully defended their Albion Cup winners medals after 4 hard fought games.

Johnstown beat Parkvilla 1-0 with an Andrew Moran shot to the back of the net.

Next followed Stella Maris who Johnstown again beat 1-0 with a blistering drive from Tega Dortie.

Johnstown’s third game was against hosts Albion Rovers and Johnstown impressively put three past the hosts with goals from Sebastian Kalonzo, Tega Dortie and Nathan Dempsey’s cross was helped into the net by one of the Albion defenders.

Johnstown’s final game was another 1-0 victory with Tega again on target. Johnstown had Karl McHale to thank for this victory after two super stops including a double save to maintain the lead.

A solid start to the season considering we had 5 players unavailable.

First League Game 2014-2015

Tomorrow sees our first team start their campaign in the MDL John Gorman Motors Division Two when we take on local Navan side Torro United.  The game kicks off at 11:15 in Torros grounds and as this is our first game against a tough side we need all the support we can get so once again put on your red and white, your club coat and cheer our boys on.  The difference it makes to the team to have you all there cheering them on is immense.

The team themselves are meeting at 10am at Spar in Johnstown and will travel on as a group to Torro.  You are welcome to join them here or come on up closer to kick off at 1115am.
