Match Report Under 16s

Skryne 0-14 Johnstown.

As the score suggests this match turned out to be a very one sided affair. To Skrynes credit try as they did they could not make any impact on a very well organised Johnstown side. Johnstown were 9-0 up at half time with mark Rafferty scoring 5 also on the score sheet at half-time were Clayton O’Sullivan,Cian swaine, and Johnny Hand
The second half produced yet again some very good football from Johnstown carving through the Skryne defence with goals from Gavin Duffy jerry kola Johnny hand to leave the final score 14-0. Johnstown to their credit played at high tempo right to the end of the game with an excellent team performance from everyone

Firstly we need your help so get your Mary Berry on and Bake! Yes you heard me Bake, we need you to bake cakes, buns, cupcakes, cheese cakes what ever you like and then bring them down to the MDL on the 18th.

Of course the real fun part you get to taste the bake so for a nominal fee you can buy your own cake or someone else’s and enjoy it whilst you watch your game and don’t forget if you still feel peckish at half time you can come back for more!

So Saturday the 18th of October Bake, Bring and Buy Cake.

Coaching Leagues

This week sees the return of the Coaching League games in the MDL and St Pats.

The Coaching League is non competitive and where our younger players learn all about the basics of the game.  We would like to remind everyone that attends the Coaching League of the following:

  • We encourage positive comments to the children but instruction should only come from their coach.   Please support your coach and cheer your children on.
  • This year there will be referees at all Coaching League games.  This referees are there to insure the rules on how small sided games should be played are adhered too  We ask that all Parents and Managers set a good example and do not question the Referee’s decision.  Also if the safety rules are not adhered too the referee must ask the player to leave the pitch.
  • All Players must wear shin guards.
  • Any player who needs glasses must not wear them on the pitch and they must wear protective Sports Goggles.
  • Photography or Videotaping is not allowed by anyone on the side lines.  The clubs can send their PROs as they are guardi vetted and they must introduce them selves to both managers and referees prior to taking photos
  • No league tables are recorded and scores are not recorded as they as this league is about learning.

Full set of rules for this league is available on the NECSL site here http://www.necsl.ie/coaching-leagues-rules/
Of Course the most important thing for us to say is welcome back to all our young players and enjoy the games !
