Johnstown bounced back to winning ways in their first home league game of the season. A strong first half showing had the home team 4-1 up at the break. Victor Hugo with two, Harry finishing with a deft touch from a well worked corner and Adam Foy with a well deserved goal showing his class with a silky finish.
Johnstown started the second half with the all important goal, Victor rounding off his hatrick just after the break. Oldcastle then piled on the pressure as they scored two of their own in reply as Johnstown retreated. A couple of forced substitutions gave Oldcastle the impetuous to keep the pressure on, Darragh Keegan made some important saves and wayward shooting from the visitors gave Johnstown a 5-3 victory.
Christy Kavanagh manger in absentia was not happy to concede 3 but now looks forward to building momentum again. Johnstown are scheduled to play Donacarney at home on May 2nd.


After a tough assignment last week in the shield, the senior team have bounced back to winning ways in the league with a 3-0 away win against Bailebourough Celtic on Friday night.
A good first half display had the away team 1-0 ahead at half time.
Best for the visitors were Johnny Forde, Adam O’Connor and Victor Hugo. Another hard fought away win and the lads now look forward to the mid-week game vs Moneymore away in Drogheda DIFE.


Johnstown FC travelled to Athboy in the opening league fixture of the 2019 season. Athboy, always a tough place to go but Johnstown prevailed in a hard fought win coming out 6-2 victors.
Goals from Eoin Curtis, Adam O’Connor, Harry Shivmangal and 3 from debutant Victor Hugo.

Johnstown Fc U-17s had their Cup Winners and Leauge and Shield Runner Up presentationt tonight in O’Briens, the team were presented with Cup Winners medals and Shield Runner up medals, also individual trophies were presented to
Player of the year;
Adam O Connor,
Top Goalscorer;
Darren Finnegan,
Most Improved player ;
Japhet Ogu ,
Well done to Eoin and Paul for their time in coaching the team which resulted in a very good season, looking forward to u-18s in 2019.

Having met with the club we could see the passion the committee had to take the club forward from a Player Development & Coach Development perspective.
We will now be launching a New Club Academy program in the coming months to support Player development for ages 7 to 13. Having seen the growth in our own Academy program on Wednesdays in Navan with players from Johnstown FC and having had players on our trips over the past 2 years it is great to be bringing the program now directly into the club.
Further Developing the Club Nursery program to expand from 2011s to 2014s Boys & Girls.
Launch a new Coach Education Mentorship Program starting next week which will see a Coach the Coach program , supporting coaches with Session planning, new session ideas and enhancing the development opportunities for all the players in the club. This will include our very successful Junior Coach Mentorship program which will be launched shortly also.
We wish to Thank the Committee & Chairman Kevin for partnering up with us and we look forward to supporting the club in its Development Goals.
We are delighted to announce that Christy Kavanagh has accepted our offer to be the First Team manager.
Christy is no stranger to the club has been with us for some time now and his no-nonsense approach to the game will be interesting to watch unfold next year. Christy also brings with him a wealth of experience from his football days in Dublin.
We could not have asked for a better calibre of manager and look forward working wiht Christy in his new role.
This Saturday many of us will do the Darkness into Light walk in Navan. This is a cause that needs our support so we would like to help our community get more funds raised for this great charity.
