1st Annual Easter Raffle

We are delighted to announce our newest fundraiser, the Johnstown FC 1st Annual Easter Raffle.  We have issued every family in the club a set of tickets. You can sell the whole book to one person for 10 Euro or individually for 3 Euro per ticket. We are asking that each family in the club sell a minimum of one book per family, of course we will be delighted if you can sell more then one book.

Then on the Sunday April the 20th in O’Briens Johnstown village at 8.30PM we will draw the winner and all are welcome to attend the draw.

1st Prize is 300 Euro & a JFC Easter Egg
2nd Prize is 150 Euro & a JFC Easter Egg
3rd, 4th and 5th Prize is 50 Euro and a JFC Easter Egg.

We really need everyone to get behind this and do what they can to help raise much needed funds for the club.  Tickets are being given out at training this week and if you can get your sold book back to us as soon as it would be much appreciated.

Bag Pack Update – Thanks you Adrian

The club made over €1300 on last weekends bagpack, this is a fantastic achievement based on the current climate and considering at one point it looked we would have to cancel due to lack of support.
On behalf of the whole committee, We would like to thank the effort made from each participant but a big mention has to go the Adrian Finnegan who gave up the whole weekend to coordinate the operation and make this a huge success.

 

The Silver Linning

They say every cloud has a silver lining and this weekend the clouds are well and truly over the club with all Grass playing games we had on Saturday now cancelled.

With that in mind we urgently need volunteers to pack bags tomorrow in Supervalu with out these fundraisers we can not continue to provide sport to anyone in the club.  So now with you having lots of spare times please spare us an hour to help the club survive these hard time.

Bag Pack Volunteers

We are still looking for volunteers for our Bag pack on the 24th and 25th of January in Supervalu.  Please spare us an hour to help with this Club fundraiser.  We now need some volunteers Friday afternoon and as many as possible on Saturday.  If everyone does one hour it will make a big difference

Bag Pack in Supervalu Johnstown

We are running a bag pack in Supervalu Johnstown on the 24th and 25th of January and we really really need your help.  This is our club and with out our fundraising we can not survive.  All we need is a few hours of your time on Friday or Saturday to help us pack bags and shake buckets.  Please spare us and hour or two and we can work together to help Johnstown FC

Bag Pack in Supervalu Johnstown

Supervalu in Johnstown Shopping centre have contacted us today and given us Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th to do a bag pack in store.  The bag pack in the past has proved to be a great fund raiser for the club and we are very grateful to Supervalu to let us do another one this year.

But we need your help.  We can not run the bag pack with out your help and it is so so important to the club that we have a great turn out.  So we are asking this time for you to spare us your time come down on the 24th or 25th and help us pack bags and shake buckets.  So if you can fill in your details on the form below and give us a few hours it really would go a long way.

But not only would you be helping the club  last year we gave 10% of what we collected to the Womens Refuge in Navan and this year we will be doing the same again.  So not only do you help your club but you help a great cause in the local community.

Johnstown FC Premier League “Last Man Standing” Competition 2014

 

The rules are as follows:

  • Competition begins from the Sat 11th Jan 2014.
  • You pay an entry fee of €10. This must be paid before Sat 11th Jan, when the competition kicks off. Otherwise, your entry will be null and void.
  • You can have multiple entries into the competition i.e. pay €20, get 2 entries, pay €30 get 3 entries etc.
  • Based off the fixture list for the upcoming weekend you then choose one team who you believe will win its game on that weekend.
  • If that team wins, you carry onto the next round.
  • Each person will be given one ‘life’. When their chosen team loses or draws they get one more chance, if their chosen team loses or draws after this they are out.
  • You have to pick a different team each weekend e.g. if you pick Chelsea in the first week you can’t pick them again.
  • To start off, you submit picks for the first 2 rounds of fixtures (weekend of 11th Jan 2014 and weekend of 18th Jan 2014).
  • Thereafter, if you are still in the competition, you will be reminded ONCE ONLY by text / email before each round to submit your team.
  • Teams must be entered by 12 noon on the Friday before the fixtures. 
  • It is the responsibility of entrants to supply their team each week. If a team has not been submitted by 12 noon on the Friday before the fixtures for that round are played, you will be automatically assigned a team in alphabetical order.
  • In the event that any match involving a team you have selected is postponed or cancelled for any reason, you will continue to the next round. However, that team will no longer be available for selection.

 

What fixtures count towards the competition?

  • Premier League fixtures only.

 

Pot:

  • Amount for winner will depend on number of entrants.
  • Pot will be a percentage of the total entry amount collected and will be no more than €500.

 

Winner:

  • If, after all other participants have been eliminated, and there is one person left, that person wins the pot.
  • If, on a particular week, all remaining participants pick teams that lose, the pot will be split between them.
  • If, at the end of the season, there is still 1 or more participants left in the competition, the pot will be split between them.

 

Check Internet for fixtures and submit entries to one of the following:

  • Club member who sold you the entry.
  • Text 087-6726637 with your name and team name for that round.
  • Email lastman@johnstownfc.ie with your team name for that round.

 

Deadline for entry and €10 entry fee is Friday 10th Jan 2014 @ 12 noon

The Great Johnstown Bake Off

Well bake off is a bit of an exaggeration but I got your attention didn’t I!

Next Saturday from 9am in MDL we are going to have  Cake Sale to raise funds for equipment for our underage teams as we need balls, bibs, cones,  ladders and new jerseys.  But right now we need your help Im sure you all know how a cake sale works but in case you didn’t here it is

Firstly we need cakes and that’s were you come in  so get your Rachel Allen on and BAKE

Once you have created your masterpiece, or in my case some Buns!, bring them with you too the MDL and give them to us to sell.

Oh yes and the real fun part you get to taste the bake so for a nominal fee you can buy your own cake or someone else’s and enjoy it whilst you watch your game and don’t forget  if you still feel peckish at half time you can come back for more!

So Saturday the 16th of November Bake, Bring and Buy Cake.

Poker Face

Its not long now till you can show us your poker face. On the 27th of October in  O’Briens, Old Johnstown Village  The night will kick off at 730 pm where we will have a poker classic.  Later on in the night there will be finger food and when the poker is over there is a band playing downstairs so we can all have a great night out. Tickets are only 20 Euro and are available from your managers and from any committie memeber.  So come on out on this spooky night and show us your Poker Face

Tickets available from any member of the committee, your manager or if you want please feel free to drop us a line here and we will sell you a ticket.  Tickets are priced at 20 Euro and all funds raised go towards the club.
