A great all round performance by Johnstown this morning, the lads played some great football today, when in possession we created space & chances, passed the ball very well & when we weren’t in possession we worked hard & closed down Borora quickly & didn’t allow them time to settle on the ball. From the start we were well on top in this game & the lads were up to the challenge. Goalscorers today were Ben Ryan (5), Alex McGovern (3), Ciaran McCann (2), Darren Finnegan & Sean Mc Ginley with plenty of assists from the rest of the team. Darren Clarke & Ciaran McCann linked up very well down the left wing, Adam O’ Connor & Adam Cummins worked very hard in the middle of the park, Darren Finnegan had an excellent game on the right wing, the subs all played their part in this game too & it just shows the strength we have in depth in this squad, but my man of the match performance goes to Ben Ryan who in my opinion had 1 of his best games in a Johnstown jersey, not only did he score 5 goals but he worked tirelessly for the team, got plenty of good tackles in, was constantly communicating with his team mates & was always a menace to the Borora defence. Well done lads, see you Tuesday for training.
