2013 Teams

Chronicling Our Season….

Well, it might have been over 3 months since we were last in the Chronicle but we’re back this week, with both the senior reserves last gasp comeback victory over Boyne Harps and the Under 12’s deserved win over Park Celtic Summerhill.

Unfortunately, the Chronicle misread my report and credited the U12’s 3rd goal to Adam but we all know it was Luke Duffy who finished off a fine move. Sorry Luke!

Chronicling Our Season….

This week’s Meath Chronicle features match reports from 4 of our teams, both senior side, the U13s and U12s with a nice big photo of our U15s.

It’s always nice to see the number of teams increase even if the number of words and column inches has decreased.

Well done to all and keep it up!!

Chronicling Our Season….

After a weekend of mostly good results, and submitting 6, yes 6, match reports, the Meath Chronicle, who have been very supportive with all the coverage we’ve had this season, chose just one report to publish this week.

Our senior first team’s draw at home to Lourdes Celtic is the only one to go to press this week. We’ll forgive them but only because they mentioned our bake sale on Saturday morning in their Soccer Shorts section!!

Chronicling Our Season….

Apparently we have become Johnstown United……or at least according to the Meath Chronicle, we have.

This week’s coverage comprises of match reports and teams of our senior first team’s victory over Newtown United and our U18s fantastic 11-1 demolition of Dunshaughlin on Sunday.

SuperDan Gismondi even got the headline he deserved….even if he did become Gismondo in the process, but we all know it’s you Dan!!

Chronicling Our Season….

With so few games played last weekend, it is of no surprise that this week’s coverage in the Meath Chronicle features only one report, our senior 1st team’s cup victory over Division 1 side Boca Rovers.

It was also a memorable day for father and son, Dave and Mark Grumley, on the occasion of becoming the first ever father and son combination to represent Johnstown FC.

Chronicling Our Season….

This week, the Meath Chonicle have really out done themselves, giving us a full half page coverage.

Reports of both senior teams, the U15s and U12s with team photos of the senior 1sts (admittedly from the opening weekend of season) and U12s means a “Good Weekend for Johnstown Teams” can be relived all week!

Continuing Coverage in Chronicle

Some of you may have noticed that our club has featured in the Meath Chronicle every week this season. Now, thanks to the kind permission of editor John Donohoe and sports editor Conall Collier, we can reproduce images of this coverage. Of course, we do so with the intention that you will ALL go out and buy a copy!!

This week, we have both senior teams’ match reports covered in the Chronicle, unfortunately they both lost this week, while in previous weeks they have also included U12 and U13 teams.

It is not just match reports either, 2 weeks ago our U12’s team photo before their game against Park Celtic Summerhill was also featured.

We all appreciate the hard work and time sacrificed by all our managers and coaches with the hands-on aspect for coaching our teams and writing match reports including teams and substitutes. This is vital so your team can benefit from the added publicity brought by the Chronicle, which can be key when trying to attract a new sponsor and helping raise the profile of our club.
